Police: Meth, guns found

A 51-year-old woman with a felony criminal history is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond after law enforcement officers who pulled her over Saturday night in Grand Junction found distribution levels of suspected methamphetamine and two loaded guns in the car with her, an arrest report said.

Karinda Robin Sills faces among other charges a felony count of drug possession with intent to distribute. Mesa County sheriff’s deputies who stopped her on Interstate 70 Business Loop near 31½ Road at about 10 p.m. Saturday wrote in an arrest affidavit that they found a loaded semi-automatic pistol with one round chambered and others in the magazine, as well as a loaded assault rifle in the car with her.

They also found a baggie with 11.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a smaller baggie with 1.3 grams of a “white or brownish substance,” and close to $1,000 in cash, the report said.

Sills, who has been convicted of six felonies in the past, is due to appear before Mesa County District Judge Brian Flynn on Dec. 6.
