Ticket for gun discharge
Danny Abbott, 71, was ticketed Saturday on suspicion of illegally discharging a firearm at his residence in the 900 block of White Avenue. He said he thought someone was inside, but there was no evidence of an intruder, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
I-70 equipment stolen
A piece of construction equipment was reported stolen Monday from the area of the Interstate 70 Exit 72 project, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Lyle Paul Clukey, 52, 609 1/2 Meander Drive, was arrested Monday on suspicion of violation of bond conditions, obstructing an officer, resisting arrest and driving under the influence after reportedly running from an arresting officer in the parking lot of a liquor store that Clukey reportedly drove to after a different liquor store refused to sell him alcohol.
■ David Todd Dawson, 40, 2853 North Ave., was arrested Monday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, theft by receiving between $500 and $1,000 and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers reportedly found stolen power tools and methamphetamine in Dawson’s possession during a search of a truck he was in.
■ Someone removed and damaged more than $500 in items Sunday from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Court Road.
■ Someone stole less than $500 in property Saturday from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of North Avenue.
■ Someone stole less than $500 in vehicle parts Friday from a trailer parked in the 1400 block of Motor Street.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ A garage door reportedly was spray painted Sunday in the 400 block of Forell Street.
■ Vandalism was reported Sunday in the 600 block of Oxbow Road. The case is being investigated.
■ Vandalism was reported Saturday in the 3000 block of E 1/2 Road. The case is being investigated.
■ An estimated $1,000 in damage was reported Saturday to a vehicle parked in the 2900 block of B Road.
According to the Fruita Police Department:
■ A drug complaint was made Saturday on the 100 block of North Maple Street. The case is being investigated.
■ A 10-year-old boy allegedly threw a large rock at an officer Thursday in the area of Colorado Highway 340 and Interstate 70. The rock missed the officer and hit the patrol car. The boy was taken to Division of Youth Corrections on suspicion of attempted second-degree assault on a police officer, criminal mischief and criminal attempt.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department:
■ A sex offense was reported Monday by the Garfield County Department of Human Services. The case is being investigated, and no further information was released.
■ A stolen firearm was reported Monday outside Parachute.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:
■ A dead horse was reported Monday in the 16100 block of Chipeta Road.
■ A deputy assisted with a vehicle fire Monday in the 66100 block of Landfill Road.
