Noise drowns out knocking
Nathaniel Yazzie, 40, received a summons on suspicion of creating unnecessary noise Tuesday after officers responded to a report of loud music coming from an apartment in the 900 block of Northern Way.
According to the summons, when officers pounded on the apartment door the lights would go dark inside the home.
Noise from the apartment could be heard in the parking lot about 75 feet away, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
After officers eventually contacted Yazzie, he told officers he had passed out and didn’t hear the knocking and he wasn’t playing music, but listening to a Megadeth music video.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ A burglar broke a window Monday at Calamity Jane’s Tattoo, 803 North Ave., and stole tools and supplies valued at more than $10,000.
