Driver, bicyclist both cited

Both a bicyclist and a driver were ticketed Thursday afternoon after a collision on 12th Street and Belford Avenue, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

A woman was riding her bike east across 12th Street at the marked crosswalk between Belford and Teller avenues after activating the crosswalk lights when a man struck her with his car, the department wrote in a press release. The male was driving north in a passenger car in the inside lane and failed to stop.

The bicyclist was hospitalized with minor injuries and cited for failing to dismount her bike before entering the crosswalk. The driver was cited for careless driving.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Someone caused more than $5,000 in damage to a business in the 2800 block of Grand Avenue on Saturday.

■ Someone stole and forged checks causing a loss of more than $750 from an address in the 600 block of 26 1/2 Road on Sept. 11

■ John Wilkerson, 46, is accused of drug possession and other offenses Sunday.

■ Someone broke into a business at 2311 River Road on Oct. 6, caused more than $2,000 in property damage and stole property worth less than $750.

■ Someone stole three white construction dumpsters worth more than $20,000 from the 700 block of 23 1/2 Road on Sept. 11.

■ Someone stole more than $1,000 worth of property from the 300 block of Pine Street on Sept. 2.

■ Someone stole property worth less than $50 from a vehicle in the 1900 block of North Avenue on Monday.

■ Pedro Arechinga, 50, is accused of driving under the influence Wednesday.

■ Someone stole property worth less than $50 from a vehicle in the 600 block of W. Pagosa Drive on Tuesday.

■ Someone stole property worth less than $50 from a vehicle in the 2300 block of Pheasant Run Circle on Tuesday.

■ Someone stole property worth more than $2,000 from a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Third Street on Oct. 5.

■ Seth Wahlmeier, 27, is accused of fraud Wednesday.

■ Someone stole two bicycles worth more than $2,000 from a garage in the 1000 block of Gunnison Avenue on Sept. 30.

■ Someone caused more than $300 in damage to a vehicle in the 900 block of Bookcliff Avenue on Tuesday.

■ Scott Stallings, 33, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting Wednesday.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Someone stole property from a vehicle in the 600 block of Olga Street on Sept. 30.

■ Molly Hoffman, 63, is accused of driving under the influence Sunday.

■ Zachary Hildebrandt, 31, is accused of menacing, criminal mischief and prohibited use of weapons Monday.

■ Someone stole a vehicle from the 2900 block of View Drive on Tuesday.

 

According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Amilcar Argueta-Castillo, 42, is accused of driving under the influence Thursday.
