Sexual assault suspected
A Grand Junction man was taken to the Mesa County Jail on Friday on numerous sexual assault charges on a child.
Keith Ray Burnhart, 35, was arrested by the Grand Junction Police Department on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust as a pattern of abuse.
According to Burnhart’s arrest affidavit, he had been sexually assaulting a teenage girl for more than a year.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ A burglar broke into a home Oct. 2 in the 400 block of West Chipeta Avenue and removed property valued at less than $500.
■ A thief stole more than $2,000 in property Oct. 7 from a victim in the 900 block of Northern Way.
■ Kimberly Stauffer, 49, of Grand Junction, was jailed Friday on suspicion of second-degree forgery, two counts of prescription fraud and a parole violation.
■ A thief stole a vehicle valued at about $10,000 on Oct. 5 from the 600 block of 29 Road.
■ A thief stole items from a home Saturday in the 1600 block of North 21st Street.
■ John McDonald, 54, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of harassment after an incident in the 2800 block of North Avenue.
■ Michael Harper, 27, was issued a summons Sunday on suspicion of child abuse resulting in injury, third-degree assault, harassment, intoxicated person in a roadway and disorderly conduct in the east area of the city.
■ Lawrance Lybarger, 21, was issued a summons Sunday on suspicion of making unnecessary noise in the 100 block of Gunnison Avenue.
■ Edward McKenzie, 64, and Leslie Iceman, 45, were issued summonses Sunday on suspicion of trespassing in the 400 block of Pitkin Avenue.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Robert Alejandro Rubalcaba, 37, of Grand Junction, was jailed Sunday on suspicion of unlawful sexual contact and criminal attempt.
■ Breanna Marie Trujillo, 25, of Clifton, was jailed Sunday on suspicion of resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, domestic violence, criminal mischief, harassment and third-degree assault.
■ Colin Lever, 51, of Grand Junction, was jailed Friday on suspicion of theft, violation of a protection order, second-degree burglary and robbery.
