Police investigate fire

The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating a fire that caused $25,000 in damage to an unoccupied house in the 1100 block of Micaelas Court on Saturday afternoon, according to a press release.

Firefighters who responded at 1:45 p.m. reported smoke coming from the structure,and were able to quickly extinguish the fire, according to the Grand Junction Fire Department.

“After searching the residence it was determined to be unoccupied,” the report said.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Someone burglarized a storage unit in the 400 block of 29 Road on Wednesday and stole multiple items.

■ Deputies responded to an assault reported in the 400 block of 32 1/8 Road on Thursday.

■ Deputies responded to a reported theft in the 400 block of Flat Rock Court on Thursday.
