Strangling alleged in case
A Grand Junction man faces a possible second-degree assault charge for allegedly strangling a victim in a domestic violence incident on Sunday.
An arrest affidavit for Richard Pitstick, 30, alleges he pushed a woman to the floor, and placed his hands around her neck “and began to strangle her.” The victim said she felt pain and faintness during the alleged assault, and was having trouble breathing and swallowing and had a hoarse voice after Pitstick got off of her.
He was issued a personal-recognizance bond in Mesa County court on Monday.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Kayla Benbrook, 25, was cited on suspicion of DUI on Oct. 8.
■ Christopher Greff, 25, was cited on suspicion of criminal mischief on Oct. 9.
■ Carlina Carvelli, 25, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting on Oct. 13.
■ Someone entered a victim’s vehicle in the 2000 block of N. 8th Street on Oct. 12, and stole property valued at less than $750.
■ Someone committed attempted second-degree burglary and criminal mischief in the 500 block of Court Road on Saturday.
■ Someone took a victim’s vehicle from the 2400 block of North Avenue on Monday. Total loss is estimated at less than $20,000.
■ Shonah Gilliam, 28, was cited on suspicion of shoplifting on Monday.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Multiple firearms were stolen from the 3000 block of B 1/2 Road on Oct. 11, and multiple vehicles on the property were damaged.
■ Dawn Scholl, 48, is accused of DUI on Oct. 13.
■ A victim was shot with a BB gun in the 2500 block of D Road on Friday.
■ Dylan Begg, 25, is accused of DUI on Sunday.
■ Someone stole $53 worth of items from a vehicle in the 400 block of Mountainside Lane on Sunday.
■ Kevin Kinard, 25, is accused of theft from auto related charges on Monday.
■ Someone took items valued at less than $750 from a locked vehicle in the area of the roller dam on 26 3/8 Road.
According to the Fruita Police Department:
■ Bridgette Bradley, 40, is accused of DUI on Oct. 7.
■ Carolyn G. Larson, 49, is accused of DUI on Oct. 14.
