Man sought in sex assault
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man allegedly connected to a sex assault early Sept. 20 at the Target store in Glenwood Meadows.
The man is described as a Hispanic man, about 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall, with a skinny-to-average build. He was in a 1996 white Toyota Camry with a bra and sun roof, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Body found north of park
A body was found Friday north of the baseball fields at Columbine Park, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.A passerby called to report the body at 11:30 a.m.
The death didn’t appear to be suspicious and may be a suicide, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Ernie Angelo Sisneros, 32, Antonito, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possession of two or more financial transaction devices not belonging to him and theft of between $750 and $2,000 after he allegedly stole a purse and the credit/debit cards inside.
■ Someone tried to buy an item valued at less than $50 with a forged $100 bill Thursday at Dollar Tree, 2401 North Ave.
■ A woman allegedly threatened a man with a BB gun Wednesday in the 1300 block of N. Third Street.
■ Someone broke into a residence Wednesday in the 2900 block of F 1/2 Road and stole less than $5,000 worth of property.
■ Someone vandalized a vehicle parked Wednesday in the 400 block of 28 1/4 Road, causing damage and stealing items valued at less than $2,000 to the owner.
■ Three 16-year-olds were ticketed Wednesday on suspicion of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of tobacco in the 2500 block of Blichmann Avenue.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Andy Dimnych, 19, Chicago, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of money laundering with intent to promote a criminal offense and a traffic offense.
■ Ernst Joseph Deffert, 59, Montrose, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic offense.
■ A resident in the 1700 block of Desert Road reported Thursday that a man cut her fence and drove through her property to access Bureau of Land Management land. Video from a game camera on the property showed a tall man with a brace on his left leg in a dark green Nissan with possible Utah plates as the suspect.
■ Someone reportedly stole a wallet from a locked vehicle parked Thursday in the 400 block of Cottonwood Lake Drive.
■ Someone vandalized a vehicle parked Thursday in the 3200 block of Bunting Avenue.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Letisha Gurule, 22, Cortez, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of prohibited use of weapons.
