Vehicles targeted by thieves

Several vehicles were broken into and items stolen in a three-block area of Grand Junction on Wednesday night. According to the Grand Junction Police Department, items valued at less than $500 were stolen from a vehicle in the 1400 block of North 19th Street.  Property valued at more than $300 was stolen from a vehicle in the 1300 block of North 20th Street. Thieves then smashed a car window to get at items valued at less than $500 from a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of North 16th Street.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■  Dakota Nowak, 18, received a summons on suspicion of stealing items valued at $13.80 from City Market, 200 Rood Ave. on Tuesday.

■ Three teenagers, ages 14, 15 and 16, received summonses on suspicion of marijuana possession and tobacco possession in the 1300 block of Sherwood Avenue on Wednesday.

■ Items valued at more than $750 were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Glenwood Avenue on Sept. 30.

■ Justin Shaver, 19, received a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 2545 Rimrock Ave. on Wednesday.

■  Property valued at less than $1,000 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Orchard Avenue on Monday.

■ Property valued at more than $300 was stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Belford Avenue on Thursday.

■ Damon Derby, 36, received a summons on suspicion of disorderly conduct in the 700 block of 24 Road on Thursday.

 

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office did not release any crime reports on Sunday.
