DUI checkpoint in Rifle

The Colorado State Patrol will set up a DUI checkpoint and increase patrols on Monday in the Rifle area, according to a statement from the agency.

State Patrol troopers and other agencies in Garfield County will be coordinating efforts to catch impaired drivers through the end of 2016.

To report a drunk driver, call the Colorado State Patrol dispatch at *277 or a local dispatch center.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:

■ Justin Cooley, 32, received a summons on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer on Wednesday in the 100 block of Dike Road.

■ Someone reported a stolen weapon in the 1300 block of M 1/4 Road on Oct. 15.

■ Deputies responded to reports of an assault in the 600 block of Helena Street on Wednesday.

 

According to the Fruita Police Department:

■ Officers responded to reports that a four-point mule deer skull with antlers and a six-point elk skull with antlers were stolen from a yard during the night of Oct. 20 or early morning of Oct. 21. The antlers are valued at $375.
