Woman admits sending
 fake emails, records say

A 41-year-old woman who allegedly sent harassing emails to herself from her boyfriend’s account to try to get him arrested on a restraining order violation is now facing felony charges herself, court records said.

Clarice Faith Taulbee was arrested Monday on suspicion of attempting to influence a public servant, criminal impersonation, tampering and false reporting as crimes of domestic violence, according to an affidavit for her arrest. A Mesa County District Attorney’s investigator wrote in the report that Taulbee in May showed him emails her boyfriend had ostensibly sent her, asking her to “drop charges and be out of my life,” the report said, an apparent reference to a previous criminal case. Taulbee later admitted that she had wanted to “screw him over” and had sent the emails herself.
