Felony menacing suspect

A woman and her cousin were walking home from a bar early Sunday when they were approached by a man yelling at them about his sister.

The man, Zachery Johnson, 40, yelled at the two saying, “You want to come after my sister like that,” according to his arrest affidavit. The two victims told an officer with the Grand Junction Police Department that they didn’t know what he was talking about.

Johnson left but returned with a knife, the affidavit said. He was jailed on suspicion of felony menacing.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Frederick Yacovetta, 29, was jailed 
Sept. 2 on suspicion of assault.

■ A driver intentionally steered a vehicle into another vehicle Thursday, causing less than $20,000 in damage, and then drove over a lawn in the east area of town, causing another $1,000 in damage.

■ Timothy O’Rourke, 50, was jailed Thursday on suspicion of assault in the 100 block of Franklin Avenue.

■  A vehicle was stolen Friday in the 2400 block of North Avenue.

■ Henry Bostelman, 29, was issued a summons Friday on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise valued at less than $500 from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

■ Robert Knight, 37, was jailed Friday on suspicion of felony menacing, reckless endangerment, violation of a protection order and prohibited use of a weapon by a previous offender.

■ Marina Ginn, 46, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $500 from a business in the 2400 block of U.S. Highway 6&50.

■ Trisha Sharp, 36, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $300 from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

■ Bradley Sutton, 66, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $100 from a business in the 2700 block of U.S. Highway 50.

■ Tre Richardson, 19, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of using a controlled substance in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 6&50.

■ Tony Dominguez, 28, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and shoplifting items valued at less than $300 from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

■ Katherine Lysher, 31, was jailed Sunday on suspicion of assault.

■ Alison Bigbie, 35, was jailed Sunday on suspicion of criminal impersonation and shoplifting items valued at less than $300 from Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

■ A burglary attempt Saturday at a home in the 500 block of Sparn Court caused about $700 in damage.

■ A vandal egged a home and a vehicle Sunday in the 2900 block of B Road.
