Man running in traffic

A man who appeared to be under the influence of drugs was seen running in traffic along U.S. Highway 6&50 between 25 and 24 1/2 roads Monday afternoon, nearly causing accidents in the area, police said.

Brandon Wells, 26, was seen running through traffic northbound on 24 1/2 Road until officers stopped him at Chili’s Restaurant. Wells denied being under the influence of meth, and as an ambulance crew was checking him out, he ran from officers and back into traffic, according to a citation.

Officers determined Wells was on parole, so he was detained.
