Woman accused of assault
A Grand Junction woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and second-degree assault after allegedly striking a man with a bar stool, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Michelle Alicia Chavez, 41, was arrested Friday after officers responded to the home in the 1500 block of U.S. Highway 50 on a report of a verbal dispute.
Officers contacted a man who had dried blood around his face and nose. The man was taken to a hospital and an X-ray revealed he sustained a fracture above his right eye, according to an arrest affidavit. A witness told police he was standing in the doorway and saw the incident.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Someone broke into a business in the 400 block of Fourth Avenue and stole items valued at less than $5,000 on Sept. 7.
■ Haley Jones, 18, received a summons on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $300 from Walmart, 2881 North Ave., on Thursday.
■ A person stole more than $50 from another person in the 2600 block of 16th Street on Sept. 11.
■ William Beam, 62, was arrested Friday in the 100 block of North Avenue on suspicion of being inside a car that is not his. Beam received a summons on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespassing.
■ Lachezar Ognyanov, 25, received a summons on suspicion of disorderly conduct in the 700 block of Main Street on Saturday.
■ Sonia Butler, 40, was arrested in the 200 block of West Kennedy on suspicion of physical harassment on Saturday.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Eric Culver, 32, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence.
■ Jordan Martin, 26, was arrested Friday in the 3200 block of Deerfield Avenue on suspicion of third-degree assault, criminal mischief, extortion and crimes against an at-risk adult.
