Horse dies after rescue

Deputies were called out around 8:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of a horse stuck in the mud in the 63600 block of Ida Road, according to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department.

The horse was extricated, but did not survive, deputies said.

Sleepy man, 32, arrested

 

Christopher Stubblefield, 32, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass and criminal mischief at a foreclosed home in the 400 block of Mesa Court, where Stubblefield explained he was “looking for a place to sleep,” according to an affidavit.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Someone entered a property in the 400 block of Sparn Street. on Aug. 24 and stole items valued at less than $500.

■  Joshua Ramirez, 20, is accused of possession after being contacted Aug. 25.

■  Robert Wilkerson, 41, is accused of violating a protection order and possession of drug paraphernalia after being contacted at 200 Rood Ave. on Aug. 30.

■  Someone stole items from a vehicle parked near 1029 Belford Ave. on Aug. 30. Loss was estimated at less than $500.

■  An assault was reported at 1100 North Ave. on Sunday.

 

According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:

■ Roy Sory, 31, is accused of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, and failure to appear.

■ Thomas B. Workman, 29, is accused of a protection order violation.

■ Terah L. Schuster, 26, is accused of domestic violence and harassment.

■  Crystal R. Carey, 25, is accused of a protection order violation.

■  Trisha L. Dean, 48, is accused of a protection order violation.

■  Joseph Gnulfsen, 29, is accused of domestic violence and criminal mischief.

■  John Pallante, 44, is accused of third-degree assault, third-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

■  Daniel Vialpando, 31, is accused of a protection order violation.

■  Henry E. Dunagan, 25, is accused of a protection order violation.

■  Christopher N. Chase, 27, is accused of possession, felony menacing and resisting arrest.

■  Abe Cardenas, 37, is accused of a protection order violation.

■  Tiffany R. Miller, 24, is accused of domestic violence, third-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
