Resisting arrest alleged
Robert John Wilkerson, 41, address unavailable, was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of violating a protection order and resisting arrest.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, officers received a call early Tuesday about a man who “looked spun out” in the area of S. 12th Street and Ute Avenue. Officers contacted Wilkerson, who “was very jittery and could not stand still,” according to an arrest affidavit.
According to the affidavit, Wilkerson told officers he was “coming down” from using methamphetamine.
Officers learned Wilkerson had a restraining order prohibiting him from possessing a weapon and from consuming controlled substances, according to the affidavit, and a search of his person revealed he had a knife in his front pocket and an uncapped syringe in his back pocket.
