‘Shooter’ drill on Sunday
The Grand Junction Police Department and the Grand Junction Fire Department, with the aid of management and security at Mesa Mall, will conduct an “active shooter” live drill on Sunday as part of its emergency preparedness training.
The event, to be held 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday, will be clearly marked with signs saying, “Active Shooter Training in Progress.”
It will be held at the mall entrance near Chuck E. Cheese, Herberger’s and Sears.
The exercise is scenario-based to help emergency responders and police practice dealing with a real threat.
