Motorcycle fatality victim was GJ man
The man who died when his motorcycle collided with a pickup Saturday morning has been identified as 20-year-old Grand Junction resident Colton Morgan, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.
Morgan was riding a motorcycle east on Elm Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. Saturday when he went past a stop sign and hit the passenger side of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck headed south on 28 Road, according to the Grand Junction Police Department. Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
The Coroner’s Office determined the manner of Morgan’s death to be accidental and that the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Sergio Lara-Tovanche, 19, was issued a summons on suspicion of marijuana possession Friday in the 800 block of Glenwood Avenue.
■ Samuel Rodgers, 57, was issued a summons on suspicion of trespassing Friday in the 200 block of 27 Road.
■ Someone unlawfully entered an unlocked vehicle Friday in the 100 block of North Spruce St. and stole property valued at less than $10,000.
