Pot bust valued at $250,000

Police netted 245 pounds of marijuana Friday morning after stopping a vehicle traveling from Las Vegas on Interstate 70, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

Travis Tennel and Jason Reyes were arrested Saturday and booked into Mesa County Jail on suspicion of drug distribution, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The drug’s street value is listed at more than $250,000.


According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

• Darin Scott Colgin, 39, New Castle, was arrested Saturday and booked into Mesa County Jail on suspicion of theft of $1,000 to $20,000, criminal mischief and two driving infractions.

• Monica Ray Chavez, 52, Delta, was arrested Saturday and booked into Mesa County Jail on suspicion of theft of less than $200, identity theft, criminal impersonation and fraudulently using a financial device.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

• Dallas Jay Scott, 33, 1506 Main St., Apt. 1, was arrested Saturday and booked into Mesa County Jail on suspicion of felony menacing and two counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief.

According to the Colorado State Patrol:

• William Neil Young, 36, 186 Edlun Road, was arrested Saturday and booked into Mesa County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving after revocation, no proof of insurance and improper signaling.
