Drugs alleged in arrests
Two people were arrested late Wednesday night after they were contacted during a traffic stop at 13th Street and Ute Avenue and found in possession of suspected drugs, Grand Junction police reported.
Jeane Hannestad, 27, and Tyler Sackse, 22, were arrested after both were found in possession of a controlled substance, according to reports. Hannestad also was found in possession of an illegal weapon and failed to provide proof of insurance, while Sackse was in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Both are free from the Mesa County Jail after posting bail.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Police received a report Wednesday that a flatbed trailer with a Bobcat S150 chained to it was removed from the area of Cumbres Court and 28 1/4 Road. Total loss is estimated at more than $20,000.
Ryan Schmidt, 20, address unavailable, was issued a summons on suspicion of theft Wednesday after he allegedly stole items from City Market, 1909 N. First St.
Someone stole prescription drugs valued at less than $1,000 from the 1200 block of South Fifth Street on Wednesday.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Galen Wayne Turner, 45, 166 Edlun Road, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of theft of between $1,000 and $20,000 and on a warrant for failing to appear in court.
Lance Andrew Nord, 20, 516 31 1/2 Road, No. 91, was arrested in the area of E 1/2 Road and Shanne Street on Wednesday on suspicion of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and tampering with evidence.
