Sex offender arrested
Warren Douglas Dennis, 46, address unknown, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender, obstruction of an officer and other petty offenses after deputies went to the 500 block of 32 Road in response to reports of a verbal disturbance, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department said.
Around 8:15 a.m., deputies were investigating the disturbance when Dennis walked into the area. He was accused of interfering with their investigation, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Dennis was arrested without incident.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Tyler Richard Payne, 23, 3292 E Road, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and driving with a restrained license and other traffic offenses.
A thief damaged a vehicle parked in the 400 block of West Mayfield Drive on Saturday and removed property valued at $500.
A thief stole a vehicle from a residence in the 1000 block of Teller Avenue on Saturday.
Two people broke into a vehicle Sunday that was parked in the 1000 block of Ouray Avenue and attempted to steal items from inside. The case is being investigated.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Deputies went to the 400 block of 32 Road on Sunday after reports that a vehicle parked in the area had been egged. There was no suspect information.
