Woman’s screams a prank
The sound of a woman screaming from a garage in the 500 block of Sunny Meadow Lane on Tuesday turned out be an audio recording, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were dispatched to the address at 5:53 p.m. after neighbors reported the screaming.
A man at the residence told deputies he made an audio recording of a woman screaming as a prank to fool his neighbors, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Vehicle reported stolen
A Nissan Altima was reported stolen Tuesday from a carport in the 400 block of East Mayfield Drive, according to the Grand Junction Police Department. The car was valued at more than $1,000. The carport at the residence was reported damaged during the incident.
Two other vehicles parked at the residence appeared to have been entered, but nothing was reported missing, police said.
There are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 241-STOP.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Someone is suspected of stealing more than $1,000 in cash from Papa John’s Pizza, 1310 North Ave. The theft was reported Tuesday.
Someone keyed a truck that was parked near North Second Street and Belford Avenue on Tuesday. The damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
Someone stole property valued at more than $1,000 from a residence in the 400 block of Rockaway Avenue on Tuesday.
A woman reported Tuesday that she was raped 20 years ago in the southeast part of the city.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Someone caused an estimated $400 damage to a windshield of a car parked in the 3200 block of Bunting Avenue on Tuesday.
Deputies were dispatched to the same 3200 block of Bunting Avenue on Tuesday after reports of harassment. Deputies investigated the reports and determined that all neighbors involved were equally responsible for harassing each other. They were ordered to stop, so they “can equally enjoy the quality of life of their own home.”
