Driver confesses meth use

Mesa County sheriff’s deputies arrested a San Diego woman Thursday afternoon during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 50.

According to an arrest affidavit, Monica Ragland, 41, told a deputy she had taken methamphetamine recently and said she had meth in the car. The deputy found a glass smoking pipe and small amount of a substance in Ragland’s car that tested presumptive positive for meth, according to the affidavit.

Ragland was arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the Mesa County Jail.

Cyclist falls, breaks hip

A mountain biker crashed his bike Friday in Grand County, Utah, fracturing his hip.

Grand County sheriff’s deputies, search and rescue teammates and emergency medical services personnel responded to the Lower Porcupine Rim Single Track & Porcupine Rim Jeep Trail on a report of an injured biker. The biker, 58-year-old Hans Baer, was taken by ambulance to Allen Memorial Hospital.

The accident happened around 10:30 a.m.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

A man was menaced with a baseball bat Wednesday in the 2500 block of Van Buren Avenue.

A vandal entered a building in the 300 block of Pitkin Avenue without permission and damaged the property.

A burglar entered a home Wednesday in the 2400 block of F 1/4 Road and removed property, causing a loss of less than $500.

A burglar entered a residence Wednesday in the 2800 block of Orchard Avenue and stole items worth less than $1,000.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

Manuel Cruz-Jaime, 36, was booked into Mesa County Jail on Thursday on suspected possession of a controlled substance, allegedly being a special offender, and a suspected immigration violation.

Consuelo Archuleta, 34, was booked into Mesa County Jail on Thursday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

David Michael Krimstock, 19, was booked into Mesa County Jail on Thursday on suspicion of possessing marijuana, drug paraphernalia, alcohol and a controlled substance.
