Drugs alleged in arrest
George Daniel Stockert, 56, 1050 22 1/2 Road, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was pulled over for a traffic violation on 29 1/2 Road, according to Stockert’s arrest affidavit from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
During the traffic stop, Stockert allegedly did not cooperate with a deputy when he was asked to exit his vehicle. Once Stockert was out of his vehicle, a marijuana pipe and a baggie with one-half gram of methamphetamine was found in his possession, Stockert’s affidavit said.
Drug paraphernalia found
A man took his garbage out Tuesday morning and found a sunglasses case with a lighter, syringe and unknown crystalline substance inside the case by the dumpster, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
The man called authorities, and deputies confisicated the items for destruction.
The suspicious items were found in the 3200 block of Opal Court.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Cory Glen Brown, 19, 2814 Carter Lane, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Nathan Paul Bushey, 21, 1430 Texas Ave., was arrested Tuesday on four warrants and on suspicion of two counts of violation of a protection order, two counts of bail violation on a misdemeanor, false reporting to authorities and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Someone smashed three vehicle windows Tuesday in the 3200 block of Kennedy Avenue, causing $2,000 in damage.
James Ryan Rudder, 23, 2226 N. 21st St., was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and driving with a restrained license because of previous DUI convictions after Rudder was pulled over by authorities for driving with a defective brake light.
Casey Lee Johnson, 27, and Stephanie Leeann Avila, 19, both of 138 E. Main in Naturita, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possesssion of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson was also accused of possessing a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license near 32 Road and D Road.
