Rings reported missing

A woman told Grand Junction police officers Sunday that her wedding rings were stolen from a local restaurant.

The woman said she took off her rings to wash her hands at Red Robin, 2530 Rimrock Ave. She turned to dry her hands and when she turned back, the rings were missing.

The rings are valued at $2,500. There is no suspect information at this time. Anyone with information about the incident can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 241-STOP.

Concert tickets taken

An envelope filled with prepaid concert tickets for Sunday’s Gordon Lightfoot show at the Avalon Theatre went missing the day the concert took place, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

A Two Rivers Convention Center employee reported the tickets missing Sunday. Officers patrolled the area around the concert venue and did not see anyone attempting to scalp tickets.

The tickets were worth less than $2,500, but are not worth anything now because the concert is over.

Stove fire in home

A Grand Junction house caught fire early Sunday morning. The cause was believed to be a wood-burning stove.

Firefighters responded to 2211 Avenal Court about 4:40 a.m. Sunday and saw smoke coming from the roof and eaves around the vent for a wood-burning stove, the Grand Junction Fire Department said.

Firefighters pulled down interior ceiling around the stove and contained the fire to the attic around the stovepipe. The fire was extinguished by 5:15 a.m.

The fire’s cause is under investigation. Damage was limited to the attic and the ceiling of the room where the stove is. Smoke damage was minor, the Fire Department said.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

Loren D. Regan, 24, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of aggravated auto theft and having burglary tools after he was found at 741 N. First St. in a vehicle stolen from Carville’s Auto Mart.

Kyle Risenhoover, 18, was issued a summons Sunday for possession of less than an ounce of suspected marijuana and possession of suspected drug paraphernalia at 1202 Gunnison Ave.

Jeremy Schliesser, 39, was arrested for possession of suspected drug paraphernalia and for having an active arrest warrant Monday at 135 S. Tenth St.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

Someone broke two windows on a vehicle at 2714 Rincon Drive, it was reported Sunday.

A De Beque resident reported Sunday his 2006 Yamaha ATV was stolen from the area of Youngs Lake on the Grand Mesa.

Someone broke into a vehicle Saturday night at 424 32 Road, No. 313, and stole several items.
