DUI checkpoints up today

The Colorado State Patrol said sobriety checkpoints will be operating today in Mesa County. The locations of the checkpoints are expected to move throughout the day.

Drugs alleged in arrest

Chelsea Linnebur, 18, and Deborah Fache, 50, 548 Bumblebee Lane, were arrested early Thursday on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s deputies and police searched the home while looking for a man who allegedly violated parole, and deputies found under a gram of meth and smoking pipes in several rooms, the Sheriff’s Department said.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

Someone caused damage estimated at more than $1,000 to a vehicle as it was parked in the 1000 block of Independent Avenue on Wednesday.

A boy, 15, was issued a summons on suspicion of misdemeanor theft after he allegedly was caught shoplifting Wednesday at a business in the 1900 block of N First St.

Timothy Miller, 21, address unknown, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of arson after he allegedly started a Dumpster fire in the 500 block of 29 1/2 Road.
