Party host arrested

Mesa County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman early Sunday morning on suspicion of second-degree assault of a deputy at her home.

Andrea Angela Reyes, 36, 528 1/2 32 1/8 Road, also was booked into the Mesa County Jail on suspicion of obstructing an officer, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and having a disorderly house.

According to an arrest affidavit, a deputy told Reyes he wanted to speak with underage drinkers at a party at her home, to which she replied, “Fine.” Reyes allowed the deputy to enter her porch but let a screen door hit him when he tried to follow her past her front door, according to the affidavit, then hit him in the chin and said, “Get the hell out of here.”

During a scuffle, Reyes hit the deputy in the right side of the face, according to the affidavit.

A few people under the age of 21 who admitted to drinking at Reyes’ house were issued summonses Sunday for minor in possession of alcohol.

Two assaults reported

The Grand Junction Police Department responded to two reports of assault Saturday.

In one incident, Daniel Reyes, 24, was issued a summons on suspicion of third- degree assault at 2454 U.S. Highway 6&50.

In a separate incident, 25-year-old Vanessa Zubiate was issued a summons on suspicion of third-degree assault of a woman in the 600 block of Hunter Creek Drive.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

A thief used a business check card to make unauthorized purchases of more than $1,000, which were reported Saturday.

A thief used another person’s personal information to make less than $1,000 in unauthorized credit card purchases, which were reported Friday.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

Deputies responded Saturday morning to 2840 Lexington Lane after a report that a man sped down the street and yelled at neighbors. The man told deputies someone hit his car with their hand. There was no damage to the car.

Deputies responded to a fight Saturday afternoon at 3071 Canyonland Drive. People involved in the incident declined to press charges or did not cooperate with deputies.

Two people were involved in an altercation Saturday evening at 3268 E Road, No. 66, and were separated for the evening.
