ATV ad fraud reported

A Grand Junction man is $3,900 poorer after responding to a fraudulent ad for purchase a vehicle, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

The man in the 2200 block of Kingston Road responded to an Internet ad for an all-terrain vehicle and wired the money to the seller. The man told police he hadn’t received the vehicle he thought he paid for.

Authorities told the man it was a common fraud scheme. There was no suspect information, and the case was closed, the Sheriff’s Department said.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

Anna Michelle Matticks, 42, 1941 Palisade St., Unit R, Grand Junction, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of drug distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ricky Jason St. John, 50, 760 Colorado Ave., was arrested Sunday on suspicion of marijuana distribution and marijuana possession.

Justin M. Lamonica, 29, 3007 1/2 Market Way, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of second-degree assault, third-degree assault and harassment.

Justin William Criswell, 23, 306 Chipeta Ave., was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree burglary, third-degree assault and two counts of first-degree trespassing in a building.

Alandell Scott, 18, received a summons Aug. 29 alleging criminal mischief in connection with a broken window at a church in the 700 block Grand Ave.

Vandals entered Mesa Developmental Services, 950 Grand Ave., on Aug. 30 and caused damage of less than $5,000.

Vandals entered a business in the 1100 block of North Sixth Street sometime in late August and damaged property.

A thief entered Western Convenience Store, 2525 Broadway Ave., on Friday and unlawfully removed several cartons of cigarettes.

Luke Mestas, 27, received a summons alleging that he took items from a business Friday at 2901 Patterson Road.

Property valued at less than $1,000 was taken Saturday from a home in the 500 block of North 18th Street.

Two 13-year-olds on Saturday stole items from a business in the 2400 block of U.S. Highway 6&50.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

A bag full of prescription medication were taken Saturday from a vehicle in the 500 block of Centennial Way.

A vandal with a BB gun shot and shattered a sliding glass door Saturday in the 400 block of Gentle Winds Court.
