Board taking input on legislative maps
The 11-member Colorado Reapportionment Commission will be in Montrose and Grand Junction on Saturday to take public comments on two proposed maps for the state Legislature.
The hearings, two of 25 the commission is holding statewide, are intended to gather comments about proposed new lines to coincide with new population figures from the U.S. Census.
The Montrose hearing begins at noon in the Ute Indian Museum, Chipeta Meeting Room, at 17253 Chipeta Road.
The Grand Junction hearing will be at 7 p.m. at Mesa State College’s Academic Classroom Building, Room 313, 1100 North Ave.
The commission is to hold similar hearings in Steamboat Springs and Glenwood Springs later this month.
