‘Bobby’ festival organizers plan open forum tonight
The organizers of a planned free country music event later this summer in Loma have scheduled an open community forum for tonight.
Bobby Willis — the man behind the Bobby’s Birthday Bash event planned for the same weekend as the long-standing Country Jam — has said that he will attend the forum and answer questions from concerned citizens.
The forum will be at 7 p.m. today at Loma Elementary School.
Willis, who has indicated he has lived in Loma for about nine months, has filed a conditional-use permit application with the county to put on a free festival on 82 acres north of Interstate 70 and west of Colorado Highway 139. The Mesa County Planning Commission and Mesa County Commission are scheduled to hold public hearings on the conditional-use permit April 14 and 26, respectively.
