Body found by transient camp; death called ‘suspicious’
More than a dozen Grand Junction police officers are on-scene at a spot near the Colorado River, where a body was discovered this morning near a known transient camp.
GJPD Deputy Chief John Zen told a reporter that the man’s body was found within close proximity of a transient camp near the Colorado River, and that the death appears “suspicious.”
The area where the body was found is just east of the Pepsi bottling plant at 140 Power Road. The call to authorities about the body was received about 11:30 a.m. today.
