Boulder County limits anti-fracking activists

BOULDER — Boulder County commissioners are threating to prosecute future anti-fracking activists after protesters forced commissioners to delay a decision on oil and gas drilling regulations.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, commissioners said protesters on Tuesday tried to bully the commission. They said Wednesday people who are not civil during meetings will be removed and could face charges.

Opponents want the county to ban fracking, saying the procedure blasting water, sand and chemicals underground to free oil and natural gas is unsafe. Supporters say the procedure is safe and the state has sufficient regulations in place to protect the public.
