One boy was taken to a hospital after being cut in a fight by another boy during a fight Friday night in downtown Fruita, police said.

Officers had detained an alleged suspect and were questioning him about the incident that occurred at about 5 p.m., said Sgt. Kevin Paquette of the Fruita Police Department.

The alleged victim was cut with a sharp object on the face in the 400 block of North Mesa Street.

“(The boy) is not facing any life-threatening injuries,” Paquette said.
