Bradford’s husband suffers heart attack
Rep. Laura Bradford’s husband, Linton Mathews, had a massive heart attack Sunday.
As a result, the embattled Collbran Republican said she will be absent from the Colorado Legislature until her husband is well enough to leave an area hospital.
Bradford has been embroiled in a controversy over a recent traffic stop in Denver and an allegation she used her position in the Statehouse to get out of a drunken driving arrest.
She later was exonerated, but not before an ethics committee looked into the matter, and House Speaker Frank McNulty, R-Highlands Ranch, removed her as chairwoman of the House Local Government Committee.
McNulty said Friday he would reinstate her this week to that post.
