Masonic Center host
for debt seminar tonight
A seminar about how to eliminate debt will be offered at 6 tonight, at the Masonic Center, 2400 Consistory Court.
The Internet presentation, which is sponsored by the Real Estate Investors Network, will be about a system that allows someone to get rid of credit card debt, car loans and other consumer related liabilities, including mortgages.
Cost is $10 at the door.

Coffee with county officials set for Friday in Gateway
The next coffee meeting with Mesa County officials will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Gateway Community Center.
County Commissioner Craig Meis will be joined by Assessor Barbara Brewer, Clerk and Recorder Sheila Reiner, Treasurer Janice Rich, County Administrator Chantal Unfug, Lt. Phil Stratton and Sgt. Terry Bridge from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department, Health Department Director Jeff Kuhr, Public Works Director Pete Baier, Planning Director Linda Dannenberger and Road and Bridge Manager Eric Bruton. State Sen. Steve King, R-Grand Junction, also is scheduled to attend the meeting.

Mesa County seeks advisory board volunteers
The Mesa County Board of Commissioners is recruiting volunteers to serve on several boards and commissions that may have openings soon:
■ Agricultural Advisory Panel: assists in resolving agricultural related issues.
■ Board of Adjustment: handles special exceptions to zoning regulations.
■ Building Code Board of Appeals: handles special exceptions to the building code.
■ Citizens Review Panel: provides a resolution process for grievances about county Department of Human Services personnel.
■ Tri River Advisory Board: assists local personnel with the Colorado State University extension service in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs.
■ Weed Advisory Board: makes recommendations regarding management of noxious weeds.
