GJ Centennial Band concert Thursday

The Grand Junction Centennial Band will perform an outdoor concert at 7 p.m. Thursday on the mall at the Colorado Mesa University campus. For the band’s summer concert schedule, visit, or call 260-0112 for information.

Retirement community events slated

Two area senior retirement communities will “Celebrate Your Independence” with the July Fourth holiday coming up.

■ Mesa View, 601 Horizon Place, will have a waffle breakfast at 8 a.m. Friday, live music with refreshments at 2 p.m. Saturday and complimentary ice cream sundaes at 3 p.m. Sunday.

■ The Atrium of Grand Valley will have a white elephant bingo with refreshments at 3 p.m. Friday; a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with complimentary refreshments; and red, white and blue ice cream sundaes at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Conservative Alliance cancels meeting

The July meeting of the Western Slope Conservative Alliance has been canceled.

The next meeting will take place Aug. 2, at the Grand Junction City Hall auditorium.
