Prep Soccer

• Tobler chosen SWL’s top player

Montrose High School’s Steven Tobler is the Southwestern League player of the year and his coach, Jim Lewis, is the SWL coach of the year.
The Indians had three first-team selections: Tobler, Ricky Zatarain and Eliseo Gomez, and three second team picks.
The first team features Grand Junction’s Raffi Coté and J.D. Swartzendruber, Central’s Casey Johnson and Kahler Grandbouche and Fruita’s Ryan King and Trevor Stocking. Nick Hoffman and Derek Tucson of Durango and Montezuma-Cortez’s Aaron Presnell also made the first team.
The second team includes Fruita’s Jack Allard and Grand Junction’s Sean Berkson, Eric Villalobos and Matt Leach.
