Briefs: OA Santa’s Arrival November 21, 2008

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus has filed a flight plan and is set to depart the North Pole on Friday, Nov. 21, and arrive in Grand Junction at 6:30 p.m. at Mesa Mall.

Kids with pre-purchased tickets can attend a milk and cookie party at the mall and after Santa arrives, the kids will help the jolly ’ol elf officially open the NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) Santa Tracking Station.

At the station, kids can learn how NORAD tracks Santa’s trek from the North Pole to homes around the world.

All visitors will be able to view Santa’s journey through video animation, take an interactive GPS quiz and learn about thermodynamics, infrared imagery, radar and snowflake production.

Santa will be available for photos Friday evening until 9.
