Briefs: OA Suggestion Septembder 26, 2008

Everyone has had that moment when you’re searching your desk at work for a utensil to eat that Lean Cuisine with because you’re really, really hungry and have a meeting in 15 minutes. And, alas, you can only find a dirty spoon.

Well, Laurena Mayne Davis, managing editor at The Daily Sentinel, has come up with a solution to that problem

It’s a $2.99 spork she bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

“No more eating yogurt with a plastic knife for me,” she wrote in an e-mail. “No more using plastic flatware at all at work (wasteful, wasteful, wasteful). Now I have a stylish (made in Sweden) heavy duty spork that’s more than the ordinary flimsy KFC sporks: It has a knife, too.”

She said she’s going to buy a set to throw in picnic baskets. I think it would be a good camping utensil, too.
Oh, the possibilities are endless for a sturdy spork.
