County officials’ coffee meeting Friday

The next Mesa County Coffee is set for 7:30–9 a.m. Friday at Mumzel’s Coffee, 101 W. Third St. in Palisade.

County Commissioners Craig Meis and Janet Rowland will be joined by District Attorney Pete Hautzinger, Treasurer Janice Rich, County Administrator Chantal Unfug and Health Department Director Jeff Kuhr.

Christmas drive provides gift boxes to kids

Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, has teamed with KidzPlex to provide shoe box gifts for millions of needy children around the world.

Families are encouraged to fill a shoe box with nonperishable items such as toys, school supplies, toiletries and hard candies (no liquids or war toys). Deliver the boxes from 6–7:30 p.m. Friday, to KidzPlex, 609 25 Road. The boxes will be processed and delivered to children worldwide.

For each box delivered KidzPlex will give one free entry to the Fun Factory.

Holy Family sponsoring run Saturday

Holy Family Catholic School will host its annual Spooktacular 5K Fun Run on Saturday at the school, 786 26 1/2 Road.

Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 8 a.m. and the five-kilometer race starts at 9 a.m. The Fun Run will follow at 10 a.m. and awards and prizes given, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Registration is $20 for ages 15 and older or $10 for ages 14 and younger.
