Briefs: River District June 13, 2009

The Colorado River District is hosting a meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation offices, 2764 Compass Drive, Suite 106, Grand Junction, to discuss a Wild and Scenic River Eligibility study completed by the Bureau of Land Management.

The study “identifies 20 segments on 15 streams and rivers in the Grand Junction Field Office’s area as eligible for designation under the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (of 1969), including portions of the mainstreams of the Colorado, Gunnison and Dolores rivers,” according to a meeting announcement from the River District.
