Farm and Ranch Day on Saturday
The third annual Farm and Ranch Day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Coop Country, 1650 U.S. Highway 6&50 in Fruita.
A free lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be presentations and information booths, farm animals, the painted horse from Gateway Canyons and blacksmith and other demonstrations by Cross Orchards Living History Farm.
The Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce and the Colorado State University Extension Service are co-hosts with Coop Country/Ace Hardware.

Learn about county government
Mesa County residents can learn about county government straight from the officials who run it during the next Inside Mesa County class, which begins April 6.
Inside Mesa County is a free five-week course about local government, led by elected officials and department heads, and includes tours of county facilities.
The class will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Most of the tours, which are optional, will take place during the lunch hour.
Applications for the class are available at http://www.mesacounty.us at the “news releases” link; at the Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave., just inside the revolving doors off Sixth Street; or by calling Mesa County’s Public Relations Office at 244-1640.
Applications are due March 22.
‘Jumpin’ Jive for Jeanette’ on March 28
GLENWOOD SPRINGS — “Jumpin’ Jive for Jeanette,” a benefit for Jeanette and Dave Hill, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. March 28 at Beaujo’s Buffalo Valley Sports Bar.
Donations will help Jeanette Hill with her 10-year fight against breast cancer. Admission is $20.
The event will feature appetizers donated by several restaurants, drink specials courtesy of Beaujo’s, a door prize of a one-year pass to the Hot Springs Pool in Glenwood Springs, and live music by Jimmy Ibbotson, Bobby Mason & Friends with Haden Gregg, Big Daddy Lee & the King Bees, and others.
Donations also may be made to any Alpine Bank under the benefit name “Jumpin’ Jive for Jeanette.”
