Drive-through flu vaccination Saturday
Mesa County Health Department and the Grand Junction Fire Department are teaming up to offer a drive-through flu vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Grand Junction Fire Station No. 3, 582 25 1/2 Road.
All vaccinations will be administered to participants without having to leave their vehicles. People who have difficulty walking or are unable to stand for long periods of time may benefit from attending the drive-through flu vaccination clinic.
Cost of the injectable vaccine is $15. Flu mist (nasal) is available for $20. The Health Department can bill Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Humana, Medicare Part B, Railroad/Traveler’s Medicare, Medicaid, and CNIC. Take these insurance cards with you or plan to pay with cash or check.

Bagel shop fundraiser for HOPE
Main Street Bagels will have a fundraising event from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at its Main Street location.
Five percent of all the day’s proceeds will go to HOPE of the Grand Valley.
Breast cancer awareness fundraiser set
Crossroads Fitness has joined with ZUMBA Fitness to host a fundraising event Saturday for Breast Cancer Awareness for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Registration for the Party in Pink will begin at 11:30 a.m., in the parking lot of the Crossroads Fitness Airport location, 2768 Compass Drive. The ZUMBA class will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. with refreshment breaks and prizes throughout the event. Participants are encouraged to wear something pink.
Cost is $5 per person and is open to the public. Families are encouraged to participate together.

Utility bill assistance available
Residents who are past due on their utility and gas bill accounts and qualify as low income may be eligible for assistance through a grant given to Grand Valley Catholic Outreach from Energy Outreach Colorado.
Money is available for those who are eligible, but the grant will end Oct. 31.
Grand Valley Catholic Outreach staff will meet with applicants from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, at 245 S. First St., to discuss eligibility. Residents need to bring in their utility invoice that is past due and an I.D.
