Buescher spends $40K; Bradford spends nothing
State Rep. Bernie Buescher, D-Grand Junction, who has dominated the House District 55 fundraising race this year, spent a large chunk of his campaign account on advertising during the first half of September.
According to Buescher’s recently released campaign finance report, the two-term incumbent spent more than $40,000 on newspaper and broadcast advertisements between Aug. 29 and Sept. 8.
As a result, Buescher was left with $8,346 in his campaign account less than two months out from Election Day.
Buescher’s opponent, Collbran resident Laura Bradford, reported banking $2,960 during the first two weeks of September and spending nothing.
Bradford, who spent most of her campaign account in August, reported having $4,399 in the bank as of Sept. 10.
