Cage fights will benefit Impact Amateur Boxing

Local fighters are putting on the gloves Saturday for a good cause.

Grand Junction Harley Davidson and Bush Cree Production are sponsoring CageRaiser 1 on Saturday night at Two Rivers Convention Center, a benefit to support Impact Amateur Boxing.

The proceeds go to the nonprofit organization Impact Boxing on 518 Colorado Ave.. Impact Boxing Gym allows its fighters to train for free, and is attempting to raise funds to keep its doors open.

“We’re turning everything back into Impact Boxing so we can continuing moving on,” Impact Boxing manager Alex Trottier said.

The fights will be a combination of Mixed Martial Arts and kickboxing and feature nine local fighters, including Logan Hancock, Jeff Barney and Kirk Piatt.

The fights start at 7 p.m. and tickets are $30, available at Impact Boxing Gym or 8th Street Gym, 1100 Pitkin Ave.
