Central takes silver at state

Central High School’s Silver team finished second in the Colorado High School Bowling foundation state championships, only 20 pins behind state champion Arvada.

Heather Jones is the team captain of the Silver team, coached by Mary McCallister. Also on the Silver team are Colton Dubble, Trever Finney, Cody Meek and Stephen Wilson.

The Fruita Monument Black team placed seventh, the Central White team was 12th and the Central Red team placed 16th.

In the boys singles competition, Ben Bambino of Central finished fifth, Jake Campbell of Central and Sam Shilling of Fruita Monument tied for 12th, Jayden Miller of Fruita was 26th, Cody Espinoza of Central was 30th, Ian Laga of Fruita placed 32nd, Austin Warren of Central was 34th, Colton Dubble of Central was 40th, Sean Lockwood of Central was 61st and Ryan Evers of Central placed 71st. In the girls singles, Samantha Baker of Fruita Monument placed 11th and teammate Taylor Podrier was 19th.
