Chatfield Elementary closed today

Chatfield Elementary School will be closed for classes today after a truck ran into the school Thursday night, temporarily disabling the school’s water supply, according to District 51 spokesman Jeff Kirtland.

Classes will resume Monday. The school is at 3188 D 1/2 Road.

Kirtland said schools must close when water services are not operational, according to Mesa County Health Department codes. Clifton Water turned off the school’s water supply while repairs are being made to the system.
