Cherish the Ladies to join symphony for evening of Celtic Christmas music

The Grammy-nominated group Cherish the Ladies will return to Grand Junction to combine its music with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra to create A Celtic Christmas.

The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Grand Junction High School. The box office opens at 6:30 p.m. for day-of ticket sales.

Cherish the Ladies was nominated for a Grammy award in 1999 for its “The Celtic Album,” which was a collaboration with the Boston Pops Symphony. The women of Cherish the Ladies are known for their instrumental and vocal talents as well as their step-dancing.

They have shared stages with such musical icons as James Taylor and Joan Baez.

The Grand Junction show will be a holiday celebration featuring traditional Irish tunes and a few twists on more classic Christmas music. It will be the second time Cherish the Ladies and the Grand Junction symphony have performed together.

Tickets range in price from $35–$25 for adults and $10 for students.
