Clothing donations to Goodwill can bring discounts on popular cosmetics
Even Herberger’s store manager Lynnette Summy uses coupons to stock up on cosmetics sold at her stores.
Until March 24, Herberger’s will reward customers with up to a 20 percent discount on spring merchandise when they donate gently used clothing and home textiles during the semiannual Goodwill Sale at the store.
All items donated will be given to the local Goodwill store and resold.
The Goodwill Sale is a rare time to receive discounts on popular brands such as Lancome and Clinique, which normally are excluded from Herberger’s sales, Summy said.
No name brands are excluded from the discounts given during the Goodwill Sale.
“This is when I do my major buys,” Summy said. “We all want to take advantage of discounts.”
The Goodwill Sale also is a time for people to have the added bonus of donating unwanted items to people who may use them, she added.
People who want to donate items can visit Herberger’s customer service desk. Herberger’s is a department store at Mesa Mall.
Those who make donations are encouraged to visit http://www.millionactsof
goodwill.com to list the items they gave.
Herberger’s will make a monetary donation to Goodwill Industries when one million people log on to share stories.
