CMU 11th in women’s golf tourney
The Colorado Mesa University women’s golf team was in 11th place Monday after the first round of the two-day Lady Buff Stampede tournament hosted by West Texas A&M University.
Jessica Sinner leads the Mavericks with a 9-over 81, tied for 29th individually, while Jessica Sinner is 48th with an 84 in the field of 75 golfers from 14 teams at Tascosa Country Club in Amarillo, Texas.
Rounding out the Colorado Mesa contingent, Zoe Woodworth shot an 87, Sarah Robbins a 92, and Summer Igo a 101.
The Mavericks take 344 strokes into today’s second and final round. Lubbock Christian University leads the field with 304 strokes, five ahead of Midwestern State. Three players are tied for the individual lead at 73.
